‘Arre Baba’: Why mothers don’t have any substitutes

‘Arre Baba’, a touching short film by Terribly Tiny Talkies, is about little Gauri who has no one but her father to recourse to when she needs her mother the most. Mostly shot in one take, the five minutes of the film shows how girls with single fathers struggle to voice their girl problems. The film, a tribute to all mothers, is an inexpensive yet brilliant attempt to highlight a simple lifestyle of a small family without a mother. It reminds us how no one can fill in for a mother as the perfect substitute.
